CHORUS NEWS Instructor: Ms. Maggie Cook To access the new Chorus website, click here to link to http://www.greenhopechorus.org! The Concert Chorus participated in the Disney Candlelight Procession at Disney World, Orlando, on December 14th! The following students were selected for the NC Honors Chorus held in Winston-Salem on November 10-11: Michael Davis and JD Loftis! Congratulations!!! The following students were selected for the NC All-State Chorus at the competition held January 25-26 in Greensboro, NC: Jessie Smith, Lauren Westerhold, Rebecca James, Brian Furdon, and Dylan Dodson Three vocal quartets from GHHS participated in the annual High School Barbershop Quartet Competition held in Wake Forest on February 7. "Starstruck" composed of Jasmine Williams, Rebecca James, Lauren Westerhold, and Katie Finan placed first in the Women's Division. "Incognito" composed of JD Loftis, Josiah Loftis, Brad Owens, and Michael Davis, placed first in the Men's Division. And "Notable Four" composed of Dylan Dodson, Asa Jordan, Carter Gregory, and Zach Gould, placed second in the Men's Division. Congratulations!!! Congratulations to the Mixed Chorus for winning division first place and to the Concert Chorus for winning division first place AND best overall performance at the Choral Competition in Williamsburg, VA on April 19! On April 28th, the first annual "Cary Choral Classic" was held at GHHS featuring the choruses of Panther Creek, Cary, and Green Hope High Schools! The cast and crew of "South Pacific" received the following nominations for the Capital Awards: Best Supporting Actor -- Dylan Dodson, Best Supporting Actress -- Meredith Davis, Best Actor -- Michael Davis, Outstanding Costume Design, Outstanding Scenic Design, and Outstanding Lighting Design.
