LORDS & LADIES INVITED TO MEDIEVAL YULETIDE FEAST
The Green Hope High School Choral Performers Present Bi-annual Madrigal Dinner
CARY, NC -- Hear ye, Hear ye! The Performing Arts Department of Green Hope High School invites all lords and ladies of the community to their bi-annual Madrigal Dinner to be presented Friday, December 1 at 6:00 PM and Saturday, December 2 at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased through the main office of Green Hope High or through any student involved in the production. The school is located at 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road in Cary and their phone number is (919) 380-3700.
Yuletide guests will gather at the royal court -- Green Hope High School -- for an evening of singing, dancing, feasting and general merry-making. The feast itself will feature fine food, a wassail toast, figgy pudding, and a boar's head processional.
"Many people consider the Madrigal Dinner to be a real kick-off of their Christmas season. It's an event guaranteed to generate a warm, meaningful Christmas spirit for all who attend," explains Maggie Walpole, Performing Arts Director at Green Hope High.
Madrigal Dinners are twentieth century recreations of the Renaissance feasts held in the great baronial halls thrughout England during the twelve days of Christmas. The feasts included invited guests, much pageantry and pomp, the court jester's humor, endless food and outstanding music. Green Hope students hope to recreate that era as they transform the school's Comons Area into a medieval English castle hall and offer entertainment for which they've been preparing and rehearsing for weeks.
The Green Hope High School Madrigal Dinner is a very popular event and generally sells out quickly. Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. The deadline for ticket purchases is Tuesday, November 28.
